My Travel

One of my biggest interests in life is travel. I always long for a new journey and a new destination. I often wish I had more money to be able to travel more often and further away.

Iceland. March 2006.
I went to Iceland to celebrate a 50-year birthday of my former boyfriends father. The whole family and I went there. I had to fly with a plane for the first time. Iceland was the most exciting adventure I have ever been through! We bathed in the blue lagoon, watched the Gullfoss waterfall, ride on Icelandic horses and explored the barren landscape with a jeep. It was a wonderful experience. A birthday dinner in the restaurant Perlan was also the coolest restaurant I have ever had the pleasure to visit.

London. May 2006.
Only two months after my first flight I once again step on board an airplane. This time a little nervous because I did not have a travel companion to follow. I went to London to visit one of my best friends who have been at my side through life. It was a short and intense stay, but I did all the things I missed during a previous stay (when I was 10) - to ride a red bus and go to Madame Tussauds :)

Lübeck. Dec 2007.
My current boyfriend and I were looking for possible Christmas markets when my grandmother put an ad under my nose. As Lübeck felt so right, we didn't need to think long before the trip was booked and our bags packed, and before we knew it, we sat on a bus down to Germany. Lübeck is very romantic, and we walked hand in hand and and, eating sweets and enjoyed the colorful lights and Christmas decorations. Unfortunately, this stay was a bit short as well, and there were not time to explore other areas in the city, but the view of Lübeck's towers and pinnacles will always be a dear memory to me.

Istanbul. June 2008.
Me and my boyfriend went with his family to witness a wedding in the family. Lightos brother married with his Turkish girlfriend and we took the opportunity to holiday in Istanbul when the opportunity was given. It was one of my best holidays ever, probably because it lasted longer than my usual weekend travels and we did not have to rush around. I had quite low expectation on the country and the people but they soon changed my mind and I came to realize that I love Istanbul very much. We lived in the eastern (Asian) side of Istanbul side with no sellers trying to cheat tourist, instead we got free food and good attendance of nice Turks who could hardly a single word of English. We shop a lot because it was so cheap in the usual shops and the bazaar in which the Turks themselves are shopping. We stayed away from the expensive tourist places I came to love the nice people in this enormous metropolis.

London. Aug 2008.
Again I went to visit my old childhood friend. I brought my boyfriend to show him London. We leared to use the subways and my awesome sense of direction didn't fail me this time either. I showed him all my favorite sightseeings and shops and we had plenty of time to stroll around. It was also the first time I got to see how a real English apartment looks inside. My friend took us to the classic london pubs, and we also took a boat trip on a canal in Camden. A really great trip!

Holland/ Netherlands. April 2009.
This time I took a bus to Holland with my grandmother. We stayed in Lübeck both on our way there and on our way home again, and it was nice to see the beautiful city again. The beautiful Holland tulips were blooming in all its splendor between the daffodils. We also saw windmills and lots of sheep grazed on the green. We visited Keukenhof, Amsterdam, a treeshoe factory, Volendam, the cheese market in Alkmaar and more. Although we were lucky with the weather, and that our travel guide was great and the bus was full of pleasant seniors I didn't like this trip at all. But it was not because of the long days we spent in the bus, but on the person in the seat next to me who was bitter and angry the whole journey. I must admit that no flowers or syrup cakes in the world could help my devastated heart during the whole trip. I have never been so glad to see Sweden as when I was on the coast of Denmark and waited for the boat to take us to the other side.

Copenhagen. July 2010.
Me and Lighto went to Denmark for some vacation during a hectic summer with lots of work. It was great! The weather was lovely and I brought my wardrobe so I could be lolita every day. We spend one day at the Tivoli and had loads of fun! We also walked at Ströget, visited amber shops and an amber museum. We also took a visit to the Planetarium and watched Hubble in IMAX which was super cool! :D On our way back home we stayed one night in Skåne to visit my cousin! That was great too. I don't see her so often since we live so far away.

Bremen. Jan 2011.
This is probably not even called a trip. It was a very long stay abroad :) Me and Lighto moved to Germany from Jan to May July :) It was an experience beyond anything I have ever done before! I had a great great time exploring every corner of Bremen and to learn everything about the German people. My poor language skills has improved and I have also learned to see the world with new eyes! Bremen is incredibly beautiful!

Berlin. March 2011.
Weekend in Berlin with bf. The weather was nice, but the trip could have been better since Berlin itself was upside down. There were so many constructions everywhere, digging, building, restoring around every famous building.... And there was also some problems with reserved tickets and such. But we got to see the parliament, Victory Column, Brandenburger Tor, the TV Tower and other famous buildings. However the German history is quite disturbing to me and i didn't quite enjoy all the commercial about the wars that has been and the Berlin wall and all that tragic history..

Paris. June 2011.
Put on ice until further notice.
