I made a little timeline for myself. Just to get a grip on how my style keeps developing.
Thought I might share.
2004 - I kinda looked like a druggie back then, I was about seventeen years old, had no idea what a scissor nor make up was and always hide in big clothes. I hated myself, i hated my body, i hated school, I hated my family and I was terribly in love with someone who didn't love me back. My favorite color was khaki green. I had the best friends I've ever had.
2005 - I cut my hair and went from blond to brown for the first time in my 18 year old life. I wore mostly jeans and hoddies. I considered myself kinda fat.
2006 - I went back to blonde (with dark hair underneath). My favorite colors were petrol and magenta. (no pictures).
2007 - Due to a break up with a boyfriend i lost a lot of weight (in this picture i had gained some of the lost kilos) I had left my hoodies for more casual and adult style. My favorite shop was Gina Tricot. For the first time in my life I wore something brown. I started to watch Naruto and my new boyfriend taught me the wonders of paypal and ebay. Later this year i cut my hair in a Visual Kei style, I colored my hair almost black with blond highlights like a glory around my head and I went to my first convention in a Kitten Maid suit. In secret I liked dressing up as a ninja and sneaking around the neighborhood.
2008 - I got obsessed with Alice in wonderland and decided I wanted to change style. I was still very reserve with colors. I started to wear skirts for the first time in my older teen. My clothes came from H&M. I got very inspired by the preppy trend but of course added my own sailor moon handmade bow. First time I used needle and thread since high school.
2009 - I got very inspired of all the circus themes that was going on all over the world. I realized Bodyline shipped internationally and started shopping. I wore something pink for the first time since I was 14. Started of with dusty old pink. I started to wear make up on daily basis educated by cosmode. In august also bought my honey blond wig which lead to me wearing wig every day. In last autumn i took a huge step and bough a really pink wig. I loved it so much i wore it every day and my wardrobe turned into a pink explosion for a while. I gave up on black forever and sold almost all black piece of clothing that I owned. Also discovered the wonders of accessories.
2010 - I bought many many wigs and tried a very very blonde one to face my fears. I've liked silver all my life and suddenly changed to gold. Developed my own style wearing two pieces at once to overcome my fear of too short dresses and skirts. I also entered a purple period where i also got obsessed with making my own hats. My style changed again balancing between sweet and classic. My first new brands started to show up in my wardrobe such as Mary Magdalene, BABY the Star Shine Bright and Innocent World. I started to read Alice deco a la mode and experimented with color combinations and pattern madness. Late summer I got obsessed with mint color.

Really interesting to watch your stylechange! You are so pretty :) I must say that Lolita is the style that looks best on you in the photos!
ReplyDeletereally cool to see your timeline!
ReplyDeleteThat's really interesting to see, I like how your style changed and still changes! :)
ReplyDeleteBut isn't it a bit uncomfortable to wear a wig everyday, especially in the sommer? Not that it wouldn't look gorgeous though. ;)
i'm also planning to make a post similar to this. so people could also see how big the changes were... but i cant find good pics. anyway, you did a great job! and yes, i like your lolita style the most! *u* ~hugz~
ReplyDeleteI really like that 2008 outfit! I am a fan of the preppy school girl look. ^_^
ReplyDeleteMiss Temple: No, it's not uncomfortable :) In summer it's too hot sometimes tho, I'm not wearing wigs in 30C ^^ And sometimes it's a bit unpractical too, I don't wear wigs to work for that reason. The long hair is just in the way :P
ReplyDeleteI love the 2008 and the first 2009 photo!
